Lots of bloggers out there write great tutorials on how to repair veneers. I'm not one of them, and I blame this on my tendency to be impatient and spontaneous. I would much rather rip a veneer off than repair it to its former glory. That was the case with this dresser. It came to me with lots of missing or loose veneer pieces which I promptly tore off. The progression of thin to wide strips of wood grain mimics the shallow to deep drawer depths from top to bottom. Those strips also allow the beautiful wood grain found on most mid century pieces to shine.

I wanted to extend a warm welcome to the many new followers who found my blog this past week. I suspect you saw the blog post that Emily Clark wrote about my work and took the time to visit here. Thanks to you and to Emily!
